Code of Conduct TTVV Players
Be open
If you are asked to do something that goes against your own feelings, norms or values, report this—for example to the board or to our confidential contact person. Their contact details can be found in our club magazine, which is also published digitally on the website. For questions or reports, you can also contact the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland. If you are asked to cheat, report this as well.
Respect others
Show respect to everyone: opponents, teammates, referees, coaches, spectators, volunteers and anyone else. Pay attention to your language and how you present yourself. Make sure everyone feels free to move around safely.
Respect agreements
Arrive on time, notify others in advance if you cannot attend, listen to instructions and follow the rules.
Take care of the environment
Do not damage anything and respect other people’s property. Leave the changing room clean. Put away equipment. Throw waste in the bins.
Keep your hands off others
Do not touch anyone against their will (outside normal sporting activity).
Follow the rules
Read the regulations, house rules, this TTVV Code of Conduct and all other agreements—and adhere to them.
Do not undermine others’ dignity
Refrain from discriminatory, demeaning or intimidating remarks or behaviour. Do not exclude anyone and be tolerant.
Do not discriminate
Make no distinction based on religion, belief, political opinion, race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, cultural background, age or any other characteristic.
Be honest and sportsmanlike
Do not cheat, do not use verbal or physical violence, and do not use doping. Do not participate in fixing matches, competitions or records.
Report violations of this TTVV Code of Conduct
Report violations to the board and/or our confidential contact person or that of the NTTB. For questions or reports, you can also contact the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland. Note: If someone has shared something with you confidentially, call the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland to discuss what you can do.
Drink alcohol in moderation after sports
Do not drink alcohol if you still need to participate in traffic.
Code of Conduct for Coaches and Supervisors
Ensure a safe environment
Create an environment and atmosphere in which social safety is guaranteed and experienced as such. Follow safety standards and requirements.
Know and follow the rules and guidelines
Stay informed about rules and guidelines and apply them. Enable your athletes to learn more about them. For example, take them to information sessions on doping, match‑fixing or sexual intimidation. Do not interfere improperly in doping control procedures or investigations.
Be accurate and honest about experience and roles
Provide all relevant information when appointed as a trainer, coach or supervisor. You can also provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
Be aware of power imbalance and dependency—and do not misuse your position
Do not use your position to exercise unreasonable or inappropriate power. Refrain from any form of (power) abuse, emotional abuse, physical boundary‑crossing behaviour, including sexually‑tinged remarks, touching and/or sexual misconduct. No sexual act, contact or relationship with minors is permitted. You have a duty to report sexual intimidation and abuse.
Respect the athlete’s privacy
Do not intrude further into the private life of athletes than necessary. Treat athletes and the spaces they use—such as changing rooms, showers or hotel rooms—with respect.
Do not undermine anyone’s dignity
Refrain from discriminatory, demeaning or intimidating remarks or behaviour. Make no distinction based on religion, belief, political opinion, race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, cultural background, age or other characteristics. Do not exclude anyone and be tolerant.
Be a role model and avoid behaviour that discredits the sport
Act courteously and respectfully. Refrain from offensive or insulting remarks.
Do not accept gifts or favours
Do not accept gifts, services or payments to do or omit anything that violates the integrity of sport. If you are offered something, report it to the board.
Ensure compliance with rules and standards
Make sure everyone follows the regulations, house rules and code of conduct.
Be open and alert to warning signs
Be vigilant and do not hesitate to report signals to the board or our confidential contact person and/or contact the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland.
Be cautious
Never provide information that has not yet been made public and could be used for betting. Do not bet on the sport you are involved in.
Do not drink alcohol while coaching
Agree with youth teams that no alcohol will be consumed.
Code of Conduct for Officials (board members, employees other than athletes)
Ensure a safe environment
Create an environment and atmosphere in which social safety is guaranteed and experienced as such.
Be service‑oriented
Always act in the interest of TTVV and focus on the interests of the members.
Be open
Act as transparently as possible so that accountability and insight into your actions and motives are easy.
Be reliable
Follow rules and agreements, such as statutes, regulations and decisions of the (inter)national federation. Use information only for organisational purposes. Declare that you will not use confidential information for personal gain or the benefit of others.
Be careful
Act respectfully and prioritise equal treatment. Weigh interests properly. Be accurate and honest about experience and roles. Handle confidential information carefully. Provide well‑reasoned board decisions so that the chosen direction is understood.
Avoid (the appearance of) conflicts of interest
Do not take on secondary roles or financial interests that conflict with your function. Discuss any intention to take on such roles or interests with responsible parties. Declare financial interests in other organisations and secondary roles, and state whether they are paid or unpaid. Avoid the appearance of favouritism in collaborations or relationships.
Be a role model and avoid behaviour that discredits the sport
Act courteously and respectfully. Refrain from offensive or insulting remarks.
Commit to ensuring compliance with rules on doping, sexual intimidation and match‑fixing
Ensure that athletes and supervisors are bound by these rules so disciplinary law can apply. As a board member, you are responsible for establishing behavioural rules within TTV Veldhoven together with members, coaches and parents.
Take reports and signals of misconduct seriously
Work to make integrity a continuous topic of discussion. Ensure organisational alertness to misconduct or boundary‑crossing behaviour. Encourage reporting of unwanted behaviour. Act appropriately against violations by athletes, employees, supporters or others.
Commit to working with people and organisations of integrity
Ensure your organisation works only with individuals and organisations of good standing. Check whether a functionary is of good conduct (consult the Register of Disciplinary Decisions on Sexual Intimidation), request a VOG and conduct appropriate background checks. Also investigate business partners.
Be aware of match‑fixing risks and act accordingly
Do not bet on sports you are involved in. Do not provide unpublished information about matches or match aspects to bookmakers or others.
Ensure compliance with rules and standards
Make sure everyone follows the regulations, house rules and code of conduct.
